Using the Child Selection screen, you are able to search for children already entered on the system, and then modify, delete or view all the information relating to the selected child.
Once a child has been selected, information including account details, current timetable details and contact details are displayed on this screen for that child.
Children can be sorted for selection by either last name or first name. To limit the number of children selected, users can specify that the system searches all children by a variety of different categories i.e. current attendees, children not yet started, children who have left etc.
You are also able to add new children to the system.

This field is a combo box which displays the names of the children who have met your specified search criteria. This name can be displayed as first name and last name or last name and first name, by changing the sort order field. Once you have specified your required search criteria and clicked on the "Search" button, you will be able to click on the Child's Name field and scroll down to select the individual child required.
The middle name of the child currently selected is displayed.
The gender of the child currently selected is displayed.
The age of the child currently selected is displayed.
This field is a combo box which displays the reference numbers of the children. Instead of selecting the child's name, you can select the child you wish to work with by selecting the reference number.
In order to reduce the list of names you will need to look through under Childs Name, you can specify that the system only searches for children that meet certain criteria. These criteria are:
All Children
Current children enroled this centre
Children who have registered, but not started at this centre yet
Children who have left this centre
Children who's details have been deleted from the system.
This field allows you to select which format you wish the Child's name to be displayed in - either first name, last name or last name, first name.
Depending on your level of access, and if you have multiple subgroups, regions or group centres defined, you will be able to select whether you wish to view children from your centre, the subgroup which your centre belongs to, region or the group which your centre belongs to.
Once you have determined your search criteria using the "Which Children" and "Sort Order" fields, click on the "search" button. The system will then select the children who meet your search criteria and they will be available for selection by you in the "Childs Name" combo box.
This button will allow you to view or print all of the details associated with the child you have selected.
This button will allow you to add a new child to the system.
This button will allow you to modify any or all of the details associated with the child you have selected.
This button will allow you to delete the information and details associated with the child you have selected.
This button will enable you to add, modify, maintain and delete contacts associated with this child.
This button will allow you to view, modify and create details pertaining to the timetable for this child.
This button will allow you to view, modify and create details pertaining to the immunisation records for this child.
This button allows you to view details of a child's booked and attended times within a specified date range.
If your centre is part of a larger group of centres, or if you have multiple Ministry of Education licenses, and you have specified a group name in the centre information centre, you will be able to select this button to transfer a child from one centre to another.
The “Accounts” button allows users to view which contacts have been set up with accounts for a selected child. Once selected, Users are then able to click “Modify”, “Delete”, “View Accounts”, “Autopayment” and Winz” for each contact, or to “Add” a new account for a contact.
If you have selected "Children who've left" as your category, the "Child Returning" button will be displayed. You can use this button if you have a child who previously attended your centre, but now wants to start attending again. The "Child Returning" button will ask for a new start date for the child and then ask for timetable details for the child. A blank timetable will automatically be created for the period of time that the child has been away from your centre i.e. since the child left your centre until the date you specify as the return date
Click this button to display all notes for the selected child.
If you have subscribed to the Parent Portal option in Infocare, you are able to click on this button to view or manage or upload photos to the photo gallery for the selected child or for the centre. The Gallery is available for the child's parents to view through the Parent Portal.
Once you have enrolled a new child please click this button to search for a National Student Number for the child. The system will link to the NSN database and search for a match based on the name criteria you have entered for the child. If there are multiple matches, you will be presented with a list of possibilities with the appropriate match ranking. Please select the appropriate child from the options provided by the NSI database. The selected NSN number for the child will then be populated in the Infocare record for the child.
You are able to search for NSN's for children in any category except "Waiting List".
